Michael O’Brien (D-Warren) was officially sworn in to the Ohio House of Representatives Monday as State Representative to the 64h House District. Rep. O’Brien, elected to his first term in the House in November, will serve the citizens of northern Trumbull County and southern Ashtabula County, including Warren, West Farmington, Howland, Orwell and Andover.

“I am honored that after almost three decades of service to Trumbull County, our community members have again put their faith in me to represent them—this time at the Statehouse,” said Rep. O’Brien. “I’m determined to fight for our community in Columbus by focusing on our biggest challenges, like ensuring quality educational opportunities and creating good jobs that make it easier for families to send their kids to college and live better lives.”

Rep. O’Brien’s career as a public servant began when he was elected Warren City Councilman, a position he held for almost 10 years. After that, he served as a Trumbull County Commissioner. From 2005-2012, Rep. O’Brien was elected as the Mayor of Warren.

Rep. O’Brien is a Warren JFK graduate and earned his undergraduate degree from Youngstown State University. He stays active within the community, holding posts at the Sons of the American Legion, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and the United Way. He is also a member of the Warren City Democrats, AHEPA, the Slovak Club, Moose and Elks.
