COLUMBUS - 

State Representative Mike Henne (R-Clayton) is pleased to announce the winners of his “Teacher Appreciation Essay Contest,” which gave local students the opportunity to showcase their writing skills and show appreciation for their favorite teacher.


“We have all had a teacher who made a difference in our lives,” said Rep. Henne. “This essay contest was a great opportunity to recognize those individuals and thank them for their hard work and dedication.”


The winning essays are as follows:
• Ms. Ruschau (Northmont Middle School) – essay by Kylie Baichly
• Ms. Stewart (Weisenborn Junior High) – essay by Elisabeth Martinez
• Ms. Hardy (Englewood Elementary) – essay by Julian Zimmerlin


Rep. Henne presented awards to the contest winners on Friday, the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week. He paid special visits to the winners of the essay contest, as well as the teachers who inspired the essays. He also presented awards to the Brantwood Elementary 2nd-grade class for their exceptional essays.
