COLUMBUS - 

State Representative Mike Henne (R-Clayton) today announced that Ohio’s unemployment rate has fallen to 6.9 percent, according to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.


Additionally, revised numbers from the US Department of Labor show that Ohio has created more than 238,000 private-sector jobs in the last three years, 67,700 more jobs than the Department originally believed. Over the past 12 months, Ohioans have created nearly 70,000 new private sector jobs.


“I am pleased to see the state moving in the right direction. Ohio IS open for business once again,” Henne said.


The new jobs statistics were part of the Labor Department’s annual recalculation of jobs data.
