State Rep. Mike Ashford (D-Toledo) and Toledo Firefighters IAFF Local 92 president, Jeff Koenigseker, will hold a press conference Monday, January 8 at 12:00 p.m. at the Toledo Firefighters IAFF Local 92 Union Hall in Toledo to unveil signage for the new “Toledo Firefighters J. Dickman and S. Machcinski Memorial Highway,” a stretch of I-75 between Nebraska Avenue and Monroe Street in Toledo honoring local firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.


“I’m excited that we could finally come together to memorialize these fallen heroes,” said Rep. Ashford. “The Toledo Firefighters Memorial Highway shows our unwavering support for our first responders, their families and the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe.”


The highway is named after Toledo firefighters James Dickman and Stephen Machcinski, who lost their lives in early 2014.
