Edwards Introduces Bill to Designate Joe Burrow Highway
COLUMBUS –State Rep. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) today introduced legislation to designate Joe Burrow Highway in Athens, Ohio.
More specifically, the stretch of highway will be located besides Athens High School, where Burrow attended and where the football stadium is currently named after him.
“I don’t tend to sponsor road naming bills, but I believe Joe Burrow is worthy of the cause,” said Edwards. “He has never forgotten his hometown and has contributed significantly to southeast Ohio, especially through his fight against hunger in Appalachia.”
The Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund supports the operations of the Athens County Food Pantry, which serves residents of Athens County, Ohio who experience food insecurity.
The legislation awaits a bill number and committee assignment.
