Troy at their 2021 conference for his continued work on improving senior citizen services funding and elder justice issues.

COLUMBUS — Reps. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) and Bill Seitz (R-Cincinnati) today introduced bipartisan legislation protecting Ohio's growing senior population from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. The bill improves current elder abuse reporting laws by establishing a mechanism for levying and enforcing penalties upon those who knowingly fail to report instances of abuse, neglect, and exploitation against senior citizens.

– Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) today introduced a resolution honoring and recognizing the victims of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War. Between 1961 and 1971, the United States Armed Forces utilized Agent Orange to destroy enemy crops and vegetation as part of its herbicidal warfare program, Operation Ranch Hand. In just ten years, more than 20 million gallons of Agent Orange were sprayed, exposing some 2.6 million American soldiers to dangerous chemicals.

State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that the City of Painesville in his Ohio House district has been awarded a competitive grant, valued up to $2 million, through the JobsOhio Vibrant Community Grant Program. The funding will be used to renovate the 191,000 square foot Victoria Place complex in downtown Painesville for future mixed use corporate office and retail development, and will hopefully serve as a catalyst for increased community investment and job creation for that area.

Troy (D-Willowick) announced today that Ohioans with unemployment overpayments through no fault of their own can now request a waiver that would absolve them of repaying these funds back to the state. Ohioans who have already repaid these overpayments but qualify for the waivers will have their money returned.

Troy has called for refunds to all improperly-charged utility customers under his bipartisan House Bill (HB) 260, legislation that would protect consumers and put more money back in the pockets of ratepayers instead of corporate shareholders.
