INDEPENDENCE – State Representative Marlene Anielski (R – Walton Hills) congratulated Chief Tom Koscielski on his retirement from the Valley View Fire Department.

Chief Koscielski began with the fire department in 1972, was appointed Lieutenant in 1994, and Chief in 1998. Rep. Anielski presented a commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives as a surprise to Chief Koscielski in recognition of his service to his community at the Independence Military Resource Fair in the presence of his family.

“Chief Koscielski’s dedication to the Village of Valley View is unparalleled,” said Rep. Anielski. “For forty-five years he has helped safeguard the lives and homes of the village residents and beyond. He will be missed, but we also have great faith in his successor, Chief Kenneth Papesh.”
