State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Independence) yesterday hosted over 30 senior citizens from Solon and Lyndhurst at the Ohio Statehouse as part of the Solon Senior Legislator for a Day program.
The program gives the seniors the opportunity to see how government works on a state level and an in-depth look into the legislative process. The group participated in a mock legislative voting session in the House Chambers, took a VIP tour of the Statehouse, and had lunch with Representative Anielski.
“It was thoroughly enjoyable and my sincere pleasure to be able to invite the 'young at heart' constituents down to the Statehouse to have a chance to see exactly how their state government operates in the Peoples' House," Rep Anielski said. “It is my hope all the seniors now have a greater understanding of how a bill becomes a law and how to better voice their beliefs and opinions through the legislative process.”

As the committees wrap up their research, I wanted to give you an update on the work they’ve been doing.
