State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) recently presented Eagle Scout Andrew (Drew) Benos with a House commendation for achieving his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Sunday, September 18th in Independence. Benos was recognized for his many achievements and service through his active participation with Boy Scout Troop 297.

Drew graduated from Independence High School, where he was active with the biology society, marching and concert bands, and soccer and wrestling teams.  He is now attending John Carroll University.

Drew has held various leadership posts, been involved in numerous activities, and earned several merit badges, and for his Eagle service project, he oversaw the restoration of the rain garden at the Liberty Playground. Drew’s attainments in the Scouting program will serve as a source of inspiration to those who follow his path, encouraging them to strive for excellence.

“I am pleased to have been able to help honor Drew, who is such an outstanding young member of our community,” Rep. Anielski said. “Becoming an Eagle Scout requires hard work and true dedication, both of which Drew has demonstrated through his many years in the scouting program.”
