CHAGRIN FALLS—State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) recently presented Dr. Rachel Jones with a resolution on behalf of the members of the General Assembly for being named Ohio’s Distinguished Principal of the Year.


Dr. Rachel Jones, the principal of Gurney Elementary School, located in Chagrin Falls, has been named the 2014 Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) Principal of the Year.  The candidates are rated in categories including leadership and management as well as school atmosphere and student standards. Rep. Anielski presented the House Resolution during a Board of Education meeting.


“I offer my congratulations to Gurney Elementary School for their dedicated and talented administrator,” said Rep Anielski. "I was honored to be able to present Dr. Jones with her well-deserved award and recognition for being an outstanding educator.”
