INDEPENDENCE—State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) participated in the City of Independence’s Bicentennial celebration this past weekend.

Rep. Anielski presented Independence Mayor Greg Kurtz with a House commendation to commemorate their bicentennial during this year’s Home Days. With just under 7,000 residents in 9.73 square miles, Independence is widely known as the “Heart of Cuyahoga County.” The city has been celebrating with events being held throughout the year, with a bicentennial corn roast to be held next on September 7th.

“I am pleased to have been able to help commemorate such a joyous occasion,” said Rep. Anielski. “I enjoyed talking with residents and sharing our love for Independence.”
