State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) today announced information regarding the application process for Round 2 of the Local Government Safety Capital Grant. Initiated by the Ohio House of Representatives and included in the state operating budget for fiscal years 2016 and 2017, these grants can help to fund public safety projects in local communities throughout Ohio, including those in the 6th House District.

Funding for eligible projects must be used for purchasing vehicles, equipment, facilities and/or systems utilized by police, fire, and/or EMS providers to enhance public safety. The total request amount for projects is $100,000 per individual political subdivision.

“The Local Government Safety Capital Grant is another resource for use by our local governments to improve the safety and well-being of our communities,” Rep. Anielski said.  “Six municipalities in my district received funding through the first round in May.  I encourage the municipalities to begin the application process for the grant funding."

Applications must be submitted online and will be accepted October 31, 2016 through January 6, 2017.  The Local Government Innovation Council will be the final decision maker of all grants.

More information on the application process can be found here: www.development.ohio.gov/bs/bs_lgscgp.htm.
