The Senior Organization of Solon joins State Representative Marlene Anielski (R-Independence) in hosting a Military / Veterans Benefits Fair on Thursday, October 17th.

The event will take place at the Solon Community Center and will feature a variety of organizations geared towards helping those who have served our country—no matter what era—as well as their spouses and families. Throughout the day there will be agency representatives who can help military personnel or their families with benefit questions, employment opportunities, and many other military-related areas. The featured speaker will begin at noon. The event is free and open to the public.

Date: Thursday, October 17th

Time: 11:30 a.m. with the featured speaker starting at noon

Location: Solon Community Center (35000 Portz Parkway, Solon, OH 44139)

Bring: DD 214 or NGB 22 discharge papers.  If discharge papers are not available, please bring the social security card of the military personnel.

“All of our military personnel have given personal sacrifices in leaving their loved ones to protect our freedoms,” Rep Anielski said. “It is my intention to make sure that all those who have served, no matter in what capacity and no matter what era, are aware of the benefits and services available to them during the Military Benefits Fair."

"We have found military personnel, their families and surviving spouses who sacrificed to protect our freedoms that are unaware of the monetary, health and other benefits that they deserve. We are thrilled to be able to provide easy access to a host of resources for military personnel of all ages and their families and hope that by bringing these resources to our community, they will be able to utilize the benefits they have earned." said Jill Frankel, Solon Senior Coordinator.

Organizations in attendance: Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, Stark County Vet Center, Ohio Veterans Bonus Program, Ohio Veterans Home, Cuyahoga County Veterans Service Commission, Executive Caterers at Landerhaven, Cleveland VA Medical Center, Cleveland State University, Solon VFW Post 1873, AMVETS Post 11, The Ohio Academy Paul Mitchell School, Walgreens, U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
