COLUMBUS—Today, the Ohio House Economic Development and Regulatory Reform Committee heard sponsor testimony for House Bill 575. The legislation, jointly sponsored by Representatives Marlene Anielski (R-Walton Hills) and Nan Baker (R-Westlake), will create the Ohio Economic Council on Women.

The Economic Council on Women will provide the opportunity to reform state law and agency regulations to better serve the needs of women.

“Encouraging women to serve on state boards and commissions, evaluating and quantifying the results of job training programs, and advising the Governor and the General Assembly of the economic status of women in the state of Ohio will significantly contribute to advancing all women,” said Rep Anielski.

“We strongly believe in the power of women and want to create opportunities for women to succeed in Ohio and across the globe,” said Rep Baker.
