State Representative Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario), along with a representative from the Ohio Treasurer’s office, recently visited Cooper Enterprises, Inc. in Shelby on October 3rd in order to promote Ohio Manufacturing Month and to present the Ohio Strong Award to local recipients.

In 2013, October was designated as Manufacturing Month in Ohio, with the goal of celebrating and commending the strong manufacturing industry in the state. Additionally, the Ohio Strong Award recognizes Ohioans who work in manufacturing and the skilled trades, in order to publicize the need for such skilled workers. Nominees and winners of the award are employees who have gone above and beyond in their line of work.

Award recipients at Cooper Enterprises include Keith Olney, Scott Gibson and Shannon Gregory.

“These awards highlight the hard work and innovative talent in the manufacturing industry in Richland County,” Rep. Romanchuk said. “I’m proud to help present the Ohio Strong Award to these worthy recipients and I want to thank them for the great work they do every day for our community and state.”

Employers can visit ohiotreasurer.gov/OhioStrong for more information and to nominate skilled workers for the award.
