Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) today announced that State Representative Marilyn Slaby (R-Copley) has been appointed to serve as the Vice Chair of the Ohio House Education Committee.
Born and raised in Summit County, Rep. Slaby is a retired teacher and taught at her alma mater, Cuyahoga Falls High School. She later ran a preschool and served as an administrative assistant at the Summit County Board of Elections. She also has owned two small businesses.

“I am thankful for the opportunity for the added responsibility of serving as Vice Chair of the Education Committee,” said Rep. Slaby. “I look forward to continuing to serve the students of Ohio and ensuring that the future of every child is bright.”

Rep. Slaby continues to serve on both the Ways and Means and the Energy and Natural Resources committees. She represents the 38th Ohio House District, which includes portions of western Summit County and western Stark County.
