COLUMBUS - 

State Representative Marilyn Slaby (R-Copley) yesterday was sworn in as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 131st General Assembly. She represents the 38th Ohio House District, which includes portions of western Summit County and western Stark County.


“I look forward to continuing to serve the people of the 38th District,” said Rep. Slaby. “We’ve made great strides the last few years, but the work is not done. I anticipate great work and continued success in the 131st General Assembly.”


Born and raised in Summit County, Representative Slaby is a retired teacher and taught at her alma mater, Cuyahoga Falls High School. She later ran a preschool and served as an administrative assistant at the Summit County Board of Elections. She also has owned two small businesses.


Representative Slaby and her husband, former State Representative Lynn Slaby, have three children and reside in Copley.
