This February, several of my fellow female legislators and I showed our support for heart disease awareness by participating in National Wear Red Day on February 7th. The month of February in its entirety is American Heart Month, and it is important to raise awareness about an issue that most people do not realize is the number one killer of women.

State Representative Margaret Ann Ruhl (R-Mount Vernon) has announced that the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill 310, legislation that revises Ohio law regarding service dogs for the purpose of mobility impaired persons.

Building a drug-free future in Ohio is an important issue to me, to my constituents, and to the public health of Ohio. As the representative for the 68th Ohio House District, I fully support Governor Kasich’s newly announced initiative, Start Talking!. Such an initiative is crucial, as drug abuse has increasingly become an epidemic in Ohio and across the nation. I want to reach out to my constituents and encourage them to become involved in the program, as they are a critical component of its success.
