Columbus -

State Representative Louis W. Blessing III (R-Colerain) today applauded President Donald Trump’s recent nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“I’m pleased to announce my support for Brett Kavanaugh as a member of the Supreme Court of the United States,” said Blessing. “Judge Kavanaugh’s pronouncement that he will ‘interpret the law, not make the law’ is precisely the sort of jurisprudence that the court needs.”

Judge Kavanaugh has served as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, known as the “Second Highest Court in the Land,” since 2006. A graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School, Judge Kavanaugh clerked on the Supreme Court for Justice Kennedy and served in the George W. Bush administration. His more than 300 published opinions demonstrate his commitment to the Constitution as it was originally written.
