As your state representative, it is a top priority of mine to ensure that the children of our state are able to succeed in school. House Bill 7, sponsored by my colleague Representative Jim Buchy, would provide a “safe harbor” for school children, ensuring that there are no negative consequences for students as a result of administering new state assessments, including those from the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).

House Bill 47, sponsored by Representatives Bill Blessing (R-Colerain) and Denise Driehaus (D-Cincinnati), passed in the Ohio House today. This bill authorizes the creation of an outdoor refreshment area by the legislative authority of a municipal corporation or township with a population of more than 35,000 people.

State Representatives Bill Blessing (R-Colerain Twp.) and Al Landis (R-Dover) applauded the Ohio House’s passage of House Bill 17, legislation that gives legal protection to architects, engineers, surveyors and tradespersons who provide their expertise and service during a time of emergency, like a tornado.

State Representative Louis W Blessing III (R-Colerain) applauded today’s Ohio House passage of House Bill 7, legislation that provides academic protections for students taking new state assessments during the 2014-15 school year. New assessments in mathematics and English language arts are supplied by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).
