Rep. Sobecki Announces State Support For Projects In Lucas County
University of Toledo advertising, developmental disabilities contracts among approved projects

State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) today announced the release of approved state funding for the University of Toledo’s athletic department and the multiple Lucas County developmental centers.

“I’m pleased the state is investing in the University of Toledo and the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities,” said Sobecki. “These important projects will help the university attract new talent, along with strengthening our commitment to helping adults with developmental disabilities become self-sustaining.”

The two items approved during yesterday’s Controlling Board meeting were:

—$191,000 for fiscal years 2020 and 2021 for the University of Toledo and seven other state universities to obtain a multimedia advertising contract with Learfield IMG College, LLC to provide digital, print and on-site advertising for their athletic departments.

—A total of $2,597,438.99 for multiple private providers in Lucas County to provide adult habilitation services to residents at Ohio’s eight developmental centers.

The funds were approved by the state Controlling Board, which oversees state spending.
