State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) announced today that the state has approved the release of capital funds to the Camp Ravenna Joint Military Training Center. The $1.1 million appropriation will be used to replace the roofs of three buildings on the campus.

“Camp Ravenna plays a very important role in northeast Ohio, training not only our Ohio National Guard, but providing training and resources for local law enforcement,” said Rep. Clyde. “This much needed upgrade to their facilities will strengthen their ability to facilitate training at the center.”

The funds released by the state will provide roof replacement on three Tactical Training Base buildings located at Camp Ravenna. The buildings house soldiers on weekends and during their annual training program. In addition to training troops, the facilities at Camp Ravenna are used to train local law enforcement and first responders throughout northeast Ohio. The camp has more than 20,000 acres in Portage and Trumbull Counties.

Rep. Clyde represents the 75th Ohio House District, serving Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro, and Central and Southern Portage County.
