State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) announced today that the state has approved $50,000 through the Roadwork Development Grant to assist the completion of public roadwork improvements in the City of Ravenna.

“I am pleased by the state’s support of the infrastructure in my district,” said Rep. Clyde. “This grant will assist in the completion of an important public works project in Ravenna, and help create new jobs, in addition to the 201 jobs that will be retained.”

The roadwork project will be the extension of an existing cul-de-sac off of Enterprise Parkway. The new road extension off of the cul-de-sac will provide additional access to the Industrial Park via the State Route 14, alleviating traffic on State Route 44.

Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. Eligible costs include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.

Rep. Clyde represents the 75th Ohio House District, serving Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro, and central and southern Portage County.
