Rep. Brent Announces House Passage Of Honorary Road Naming Bill
HB 276 honors Orange Village Councilman Ronald H. Barron
 
 

State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) today announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 276, legislation naming a stretch of Interstate 271 in Cuyahoga County after Ronald H. Barron.


“Councilman Barron had key influence in the development of the Pinecrest shopping area in Orange. It was his brainchild and it has had a positive, lasting impact on our community,” said Rep. Brent. “I am honored to announce state support of his legacy upon the successful passage of this bill.”


The provision was included in an omnibus bill with several other road-naming proposals.


After passing the House, HB 276 will head to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.

State Reps. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) and Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today issued a joint statement applauding Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto of a provision within the state budget, House Bill 166, that would have limited the ability of certain school districts to raise operating funds through local property taxes. 



 
 

Rep. Brent To Hold Press Conference To Discuss Commonsense Gun Safety Measures

 

State Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) will be joined by Mayor of Pepper Pike Richard Bain and Mary Anne Crampton, a representative from the gun violence advocacy group Moms Demand Action, on Monday, May 13 at 2:30p.m. at the Harvard Community Service Center in Cleveland to oppose House Bill (HB) 178, partisan legislation to loosen Ohio gun safety laws, which could put Ohio families and law enforcement officials at risk.
