Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed State Representative Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) to serve as chair of the Ohio House Financial Institutions, Housing & Urban Development Committee, a change that will become effective May 1st. The committee addresses issues aimed at promoting economic growth and revitalizing communities throughout Ohio.

“It is an honor to be asked by Speaker Rosenberger to serve as Chair of the House Financial Institutions, Housing, and Urban Development Committee. The Ohio House has worked diligently to strengthen our communities and ensure that every Ohioan can realize the American dream of homeownership,” said Rep. Dever. “I anticipate the committee will build upon these efforts. I thank the Speaker for entrusting me with this position and look forward to collaborating with all interested parties that appear before the committee.”

Rep. Dever has already sponsored several pieces of legislation referred to the House Financial Institutions, Housing & Urban Development Committee, including House Resolution 107 and House Bills 303 and 463. Each piece of legislation is aimed at keeping Ohioans in their homes, rebuilding communities, and boosting local economies.

Dever is currently serving his first term in the Ohio House. He also serves on the Community and Family Advancement, Judiciary, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Ways and Means committees.

Dever represents the 28th House District, which includes the northern suburbs of Hamilton County.
