COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed State Representative Jonathan Dever (R-Madeira) to the Ohio Rail Development Commission (ORDC).

Created in 1994, the ORDC is responsible for providing grants, loans and other assistance in order to improve the transportation of people and goods across Ohio’s intricate rail network. This includes boosting economic development projects for businesses locating or expanding in Ohio with rail spurs and other rail infrastructure, as well as addressing special rail problems such as mainline congestion.

"Rail has played an integral role in Ohio's history and continues to be a vital economic development tool," said Dever. "I look forward to working with the Commission to ensure the continual development of our state's rail infrastructure."

Dever is currently serving his second term as state representative. He represents the 28th House District, which includes the northern suburbs of Hamilton County.
