State Reps. John Rogers (D-Mentor-on-the-Lake) and Ron Young (R-Leroy Township) today introduced bipartisan legislation that would give property owners along a coastline an additional option to assist in mitigating coastal erosion or financing other needed improvements.

 
 

06.08.18 - Rogers: Bill To Modernize Ohio Voting Equipment Passes House

 

State Rep. John Rogers (D-Mentor-on-the-Lake) applauded Wednesday’s passage of Senate Bill (SB) 135, which would invest more than $100 million in state funds for Ohio counties to purchase new, modern voting equipment. These funds will be used to purchase new voting machines and associated equipment including marking devices, automatic tabulating equipment and associated ancillary costs.  The legislation also appropriates $10 million to reimburse counties who purchased new voting systems on or after January 1, 2014.

 
 

05.23.18 - Rogers Responds To Continued House Session Cancellation, Lack Of Speaker

 

State Rep. John M. Rogers (D-Mentor-On-The-Lake) issued the following statement in response to today’s session cancellation notice from House Republicans hours before the House was scheduled to vote on a new Republican speaker:

“All of us are aware of the fact that the House of Representatives for the most part is at a standstill. There are currently over 100 pieces of legislation below the line, legislation that has been heard and referred out of committee and waiting to be considered by the entire House.  Last week, there were 15 bills scheduled for consideration during the cancelled session. This morning, we learned the sessions scheduled for today and tomorrow have been cancelled.
