State Rep. John Rogers (D-Mentor-on-the-Lake) today was appointed to serve on the House Committee on Public Utilities.

“Ensuring that Ohioans are getting quality service from electric, gas, water, and sewage companies is vitally important,” said Rep. Rogers. “Consumers need adequate safeguards in place, and utility companies need a clear picture of the regulations they must follow. I look forward to working with my colleagues as we address these issues and seek to establish policies that are in the best interest of Ohioans. I am honored that House Leadership has asked me to serve in this capacity.”

Rep. Rogers previously served as Mayor of the City of Mentor-on-the-Lake for nearly nineteen years before coming to the Ohio House.  While serving as Mayor, Rep. Rogers oversaw the operations of all city departments and managed an average budget in excess of $4.5 million dollars.
