State Rep. John Boccieri (D-Poland) today sent a second letter to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Director Craig Butler, repeating still unanswered questions regarding the agency’s response to ongoing water contamination concerns in Sebring. This letter is a follow-up to the previous one Rep. Boccieri and State Senator Joe Schiavoni (D-Boardman) sent last week to the Ohio EPA requesting confirmation of the timeline in which the agency received the water quality test results.

The Ohio EPA provided a formal response to the legislators’ joint letter earlier this morning, but the information the agency provided was nothing more than what they had already released to the press over the past few days. Through direct contact with the state-certified vendor that conducted the water tests, Ream & Haager Laboratory, the legislators confirmed the Ohio EPA received the lab results on August 21, 2015. Rep. Boccieri and Sen. Schiavoni are still requesting the Ohio EPA attend a public meeting and answer questions before the citizens they are charged with protecting.

*Letter and record of notification to the EPA is attached.
