State Representative John Becker (R-Union Township) introduced House Bill 269 today. It requires voters to show photo identification for in-person voting.

“The purpose of the photo ID bill is to discourage fraud and to provide the most basic, common, and reasonable security for voting,” said Rep. Becker. “The bill allows for free photo IDs for people who can’t afford to purchase one and who are at or below the federal poverty level.”

House Bill 269 will be assigned to a House committee in the near future.
