State Representative John Becker (R-Union Township) has announced that Milford Exempted Village Schools was recently selected to receive $1.07 million in funding through Ohio’s Straight A Fund as the lead applicant for a consortium of schools.

For the current fiscal year, a total of $100 million has been appropriated, and Milford is one of 24 winning proposals. The funding is to be used for the STEM Case-Based Learning Consortium.

“I want to congratulate Milford schools and all others who are involved in this consortium project,” Rep. Becker said. “The community should be very proud of the school and its focus on STEM education.”

The winning schools were selected based on financial sustainability, statistical analysis and input from a group of grant advisers.
