State Representative John Becker (R-Union Township) today announced that the Milford Exempted Village School District has been approved for funding through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to build two new schools that will House grades pre-K through 6.

The state share of the project is $25,664,664, with a local share of $69,389,648 of which $70,073,023 will be covered by the state as credit for the district’s participation in the Expedited Local Partnership Program. The total budget for the project will be $95,054,312.

“The Milford community cares deeply about its schools and the outstanding students that they produce,” Rep. Becker said. “I’m pleased to see that they can take advantage of this funding and have the opportunity to build new facilities like this.”

The district must acquire its local shared of the project within a 13-month time frame before state funding can be released. The commission is approving funding for a total of 19 districts totaling $1.1 billion in state and local funds.
