COLUMBUS—The Ohio House passed legislation yesterday aimed at decreasing distracted driving across the state by imposing up to a $100 fine on offenders, in addition to the standard fine established for the moving violation they are cited for.

The Ohio House today passed House Bill 63, also known as “Judy’s Law,” which strengthens the penalties for perpetrators of felonious assault if an accelerant is used in committing the offense.

So far this general assembly, the Ohio House has passed a number of important bills, from the state transportation budget to legislation that supports Ohio’s small business community by creating the definition of a microbusiness.
