State Representative Jim Butler (R-Oakwood) today welcomed the Archbishop Alter girls’ basketball team to the Statehouse to be recognized for winning the state championship in Division II.

The Lady Knights defeated Toledo Rogers in the state title game 57-42 to claim its second-ever state championship and to cap off a perfect 30-0 season. Alter also won the state championship in 2008.

“I want to offer my most sincere congratulations to the Lady Knights basketball team on their remarkable undefeated season, and for claiming another state title for Archbishop Alter,” said Representative Butler.  “It was my pleasure to host Coach Hart and her team in Columbus today and to present them with House Resolution 100.  Winning a championship in team sports, at any level, is an outstanding achievement. Our community should be very proud of these young ladies for what they have accomplished.”
