COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has announced that State Representative Jim Butler (R-Oakwood) has been appointed to serve on five Ohio House committees.

Earlier this month, Butler was named chair of the House Civil Justice Committee. Following this week’s announcement, he will also be serving on these committees:

• Finance (including the Finance Subcommittee on State Government & Agency Review)
• Criminal Justice
• Education & Career Readiness
• Health

“It will be an honor, and an exciting one at that, to serve on such a diverse array of influential committees,” said Representative Butler. “I am particularly eager to serve on the Finance Committee for the first time during my tenure. There is a great deal of important work that lies ahead in the next few months, and I’d like to encourage Ohioans to make their views known as we begin working on their state budget.”

Butler is currently serving his third elected term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives.  He represents the 41st House District in Montgomery County (Centerville, Kettering, Oakwood and portions of Riverside and Dayton).
