State Representative Jim Butler is currently serving his second elected term as a member of

the Ohio House of Representatives.  He represents the 41st House District in Montgomery

County (Centerville, Kettering, Oakwood and portions of Riverside and Dayton). 

Representative Butler is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.  He also serves on

the House Health and Aging Committee and the Government Accountability and Oversight Committee.

07.02.15 - Representative Butler Announces Budget Amendment Encouraging Veteran Employment

 
COLUMBUS -

State Representative Jim Butler (R–Oakwood) announced today a policy initiative in the biennial operating budget bill, House Bill 64, which will incentivize and encourage employment of veterans.  Rep. Butler authored the amendment in the House, and the provision remained intact throughout the budget process.  House Bill 64 was signed by Governor John Kasich on Tuesday, June 30th.

State Representative Jim Butler (R – Oakwood) today praised the inclusion of a new policy proposal known as the Healthy Ohio Plan in the state operating budget, House Bill 64.  The new initiative is a key component in a comprehensive healthcare reform bill, House Bill 157 (Reps. Butler & Johnson, T.), which was introduced earlier this year and remains under consideration in the House of Representatives.  Rep. Butler offered the entirety of HB 157 as an amendment to the budget, and two key components, the Healthy Ohio Plan and health care price transparency, were ultimately adopted and signed into law by Governor John Kasich on Tuesday.

 
 

07.02.15 - Representative Butler Authored 'Out Of Pocket Disclosure' Provision In State Budget Bill

State Representative Jim Butler (R – Oakwood) today commended a new provision inserted into the state operating budget bill, House Bill 64.  The provision requires insurers offering health benefit plans through an exchange to make available a list of the top twenty percent most-common health care services covered under the plan and, for each service, the expected out-of-pocket costs for those services.
