Rep. Miranda Thanks Local Mayors, Community Members For Mayoral Roundtable
Lawmaker recently held first of many community meetings with local elected officials in District 28

State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) last Friday held a community meeting with Mayors in the cities and villages of House District 28 in an effort to create transparency and open communication between elected officials in the state and local community and their constituents.

“This type of transparent, open discussion with our local elected officials is exactly what my position as your Representative in the Statehouse calls for,” said Miranda. “My job requires a keen ear ready to listen to the concerns of the people in our district, especially the people entrusted to govern the areas within our district. I look forward to continuing these community meetings in the Great 28.”

During the roundtable discussion, important topics from local government funding to gas tax allocation and home rule ordinances were addressed by the elected officials.

“Out of all my years in politics, this was the first time I have seen nearly all Mayors of District 28 gathered together in order to talk about the issues that matter most to us,” said Mayor of Evendale Richard Finan, also former state Rep. and Senate President.

The community meeting last Friday is part of Rep. Miranda’s ongoing effort to ensure that open communication is established between her office and her constituents within the Great 28.
