Rep. Miranda Mourns The Loss Of 150,000 Americans To COVID-19
Sobering death toll comes as Ohio continues to face an increase in cases

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) released the following statement today as the number of Americans that have died as a result of COVID-19 reached 150,000.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, as of July 29, Ohio has 86,497 total COVID-19 cases and 3,382 total deaths.

“The high number of preventable deaths leaves me disgusted by the federal response to COVID-19. By heeding the warning of our nation’s leading public health officials, we could have avoided this tragic death toll. Instead, the President of the United States and his party chose to ignore science and never took this pandemic seriously. My heart is with the family of the victims of this virus,” said Rep. Miranda.
