York Street Fresh Foods to Receive an Economic Development Grant from JobsOhio
 
 

COLUMBUS— State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) continues to welcome the many local job creation projects to her district through investment in businesses such as York Street Fresh Foods.


“The dynamic effort of JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati has once again brought good paying jobs to the great people of District 28,” said Rep. Miranda. “As we are confronted with much uncertainty, it is good to be able to rely on JobsOhio to continue creating opportunities for growth. I am excited to see what the future holds for York Street Fresh Foods, and I look forward to more high quality jobs coming to our district; high quality jobs that the people of District 28 deserve.”


York Street Fresh Foods, a family-owned business, is a producer and distributor of premium, healthy and convenient grab-and-go food solutions. The company is a joint venture between Caruso Inc., an Ohio-based company, and Lorenzo Food Group, a New Jersey company. Their project is associated with a $3 million capital investment, and they expect to create 128 full-time positions, with over $4.3 million in new payroll, and retain another 146 positions.


This local project is among the many projects JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati have worked on in the District, symbolizing over 8,500 new jobs and nearly $700 million in new fixed assets investment commitment to House District 28.

Rep. Miranda Pushes For Transparency, Workplace Safety Standards For House Employees

 

State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) today sent a letter to Speaker Larry Householder (R-Glenford) calling for transparency and clarity on the House’s handling of coronavirus cases. Last week, House HR staff misidentified a Miranda staffer in its attempt to respond to potential coronavirus exposure among Republican staff. Democrats said that had the mistake not occurred, they would have been kept in the dark entirely.



 
 

Rep. Miranda Announces $300 Million To Help Colleges, Universities, And K-12 Schools Prepare For Fall Semester Amid COVID-19

 

State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) announced Monday the state Controlling Board approved another round of federal funding to support Ohio’s efforts to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak, including $300 million in federal funding to offset Ohio’s K-12 schools and colleges and university’s costs of keeping students and staff safe in the fall.
