State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) today announced $22,283.78 in Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) grant funding to support marine patrol units for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office.

“I am excited to hear that this essential funding has been awarded to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s office in pursuit of public safety,” said Rep. Miranda. “The state has made a good faith effort to promote and oversee safety on our water ways, I applaud them for the allocation of funds and for the high priority on the safety of the public.”

In addition to patrols, funding will help law enforcement to provide emergency responses and purchase safety equipment.

The release of funding comes from ODNR’s Division of Parks and Watercraft through the Marine Patrol Assistance Grant Program. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is one of 23 grant recipients throughout the state.
