State Representative Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) announced the release of $89,495 by the State Controlling Board for Eastern Gateway Community College. According to Rep. Cera, $76,500 will be used for roof replacement, while the remainder, $12,995, will help meet contractual obligations with the architect providing design and construction administration for the restoration project at EGCC Pugliese Center Parking Lot. The college parking lot is in need of restoration so that it may comply with ADA standards.

Representative Cera noted he was pleased that EGCC will receive these state dollars. “Being able to complete the roof repairs, especially since they leak, will help maintain the stability of this facility for years to come. Restoring the parking lot and making sure it is up to code helps keep the facility operational for the professors and students attending the school.”

The work replaces 100% of the roof at the Business, Education and Fitness Center and approximately 90% of the Main campus roof.
