State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) will host a Town Hall meeting Thursday, August 9, from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Martins Ferry Library. Cera will be on hand to take questions and update constituents in the 96th House District about efforts to bring oil and gas money back to Eastern Ohio, investing in infrastructure and local communities and his push to eliminate corruption and waste in state agencies. The event is free and open to the public.

State Representative Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) announced the passage of legislation that exempts the sale of tampons and other feminine hygiene products from the sales tax.

Known as the “pink tax” exemption, the provision applies to tampons, pads and other feminine hygiene products. According to a fiscal analysis from the Legislative Service Commission, Ohio women give the state nearly $4 million in annual taxes from purchasing feminine hygiene products.

Rep. Cera Introduces Bill To Support Coal Miners Suffering From Black Lung Disease

 

State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) today announced his introduction of House Bill (HB) 167, legislation to ensure coal miners and their families receive fair disability compensation should they contract black lung disease during their careers. According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, rates of black lung disease among Appalachian coal miners are the highest they have been in 40 years



 
 

Rep. Cera Takes Final Oath Of Office

 

State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) officially took the oath of office on Monday, marking the beginning of his final two-year term in the Ohio House of Representatives. Cera, the longest serving member of the House Democratic Caucus, said he is honored to return to the Ohio House for his final term in office. He will be unable to run for re-election in 2020 due to term limits.
