State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) today announced the release of over $300,000 in state funds for infrastructure repairs at Ohio University Eastern (OUE) campus, located in Belmont County. The funding was approved yesterday by the state Controlling Board, a panel tasked with oversight of state spending.


“OUE provides affordable and quality education to many local residents and students from nearby communities,” said Cera. “These infrastructure improvements will make OUE’s campus more appealing, accessible and welcoming to current and prospective students. I look forward to seeing the state support more development projects in Belmont County.”


The infrastructure renovations will help restore the campus’ outdated Health and Physical Education Recreation Community Center parking lot by replacing the existing pavement and grass parking islands with heavy asphalt. The parking lot was originally constructed in 1997 and has deteriorated due to age, weather and everyday use. The state funding will also help repair an aging decorative retaining wall located along the parking lot.

Rep. Cera Takes Final Oath Of Office

 

State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) officially took the oath of office on Monday, marking the beginning of his final two-year term in the Ohio House of Representatives. Cera, the longest serving member of the House Democratic Caucus, said he is honored to return to the Ohio House for his final term in office. He will be unable to run for re-election in 2020 due to term limits.  



 
 

Rep. Jack Cera To Host Public Town Hall In Martins Ferry

 

State Rep. Jack Cera (D-Bellaire) will host a Town Hall meeting Thursday, August 9, from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Martins Ferry Library. Cera will be on hand to take questions and update constituents in the 96th House District about efforts to bring oil and gas money back to Eastern Ohio, investing in infrastructure and local communities and his push to eliminate corruption and waste in state agencies. The event is free and open to the public.
