COLUMBUS – State Representative J. Todd Smith (R-Farmersville) announced the approval of assistance for a project in Preble County by the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA). The Henny Penny Corporation was approved for a 1.294 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit by the TCA for an expansion project in the City of Eaton.

The expansion project expects to create 70 full-time positions, generating $3.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $41.7 million in existing payroll. The Henny Penny Corporation provides food service equipment solutions to quick service and casual dining chains, health care facilities, and supermarkets.

“I am proud of the work Henny Penny is doing to grow the economy and support the livelihoods of the citizens of Preble County,” Rep. Smith said. “I give Henny Penny’s leadership tremendous credit for choosing the talented labor force in Eaton for the expansion of their international enterprise.”

The TCA reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners that would create investments and new payroll throughout Ohio. Nine projects were approved in total and are set to create 1,222 new jobs and retain 1,883 jobs statewide. The new projects are expected to create more than $89 million in investments throughout Ohio and generate more than $82 million in new payroll.
