Summer at the Statehouse can usually be a little quieter. There is no voting taking place in House session and regular committees break from vetting legislation. This gives representatives the chance to research bills they are working on, meet with constituents and attend events in their district.

While it is sometimes difficult imagining this being a problem in our own neighborhoods, the reality is that prescription drug addiction exists in communities both urban and rural. COLUMBUS -

State Representative Margaret Ann Ruhl (R-Mount Vernon) applauded the passage of House Bill 449 by the Ohio House yesterday. The legislation gives veterans greater access to higher education by prohibiting state institutions of higher learning from applying any residency-related restrictions to the admission application of a qualified veteran or the veteran’s spouse or dependent.
