Since the time I was sworn in as your state representative, Ohio has continued to take steps to keep our government open and transparent.  Two of the most notable advances have been the House Finance and Appropriations Committee‘s ability to be streamed live online and updates to the House website to post committee documents.  As a firm believer that transparency creates a well informed citizenry, I followed in this spirit, and introduced a series of bills, with Representative Mike Duffey, known as the DataOhio Initiate.

COLUMBUS—State Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance) today joined Governor John Kasich for the ceremonial signing of House Bill 487, a component of the Mid-Biennium Review (MBR) package that makes various changes to primary and secondary education.  The signing took place at Buckeye Girls State in Mount Union.

06.05.14 - Rep. Hagan Applauds Passage Of Bill That Eliminates Residency Requirements For Veterans Applying To State Institutions Of Higher Learning

 
COLUMBUS -

State Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance) applauded the passage of House Bill 449 this week by the Ohio House. The legislation gives veterans greater access to higher education by prohibiting state institutions of higher learning from applying any residency-related restrictions to the admission application of a qualified veteran or the veteran’s spouse or dependent.
