State Controlling Board Approves Major Wood County Roadwork Project

State Rep. Haraz Ghanbari (R-Perrysburg) announced Monday night the Ohio State Controlling Board approved $400,000 for a Roadwork Development Grant to the Wood County Port Authority.

The grant will be used for a public roadwork improvement project that will support NSG Glass North America, Inc. in Troy Township.

“I am pleased to see the approval of this project, this expansion will help our local businesses and create more jobs,” said Ghanbari.

Roadwork will consist of the reconstruction of an existing road, Pemberville Road to assist NSG Glass North America, Inc. Through the State Controlling Board approval, 150 new, full-time-equivalent jobs will be created.

Roadwork Development Grants are awarded for public roadwork improvements that support the expansion or attraction of businesses. Eligible costs include widening, paving, road construction and reconstruction, and right-of-way infrastructure improvements such as sewer or utility lines.
