Holmes To Partner With Area Officials, State Agencies On Local Business Development Day
Invites local leaders to day of workshops focused on minority, women and veteran business growth

State Rep. Glenn Holmes (D-Girard) today announced he is partnering with area officials and state agencies to host a business development day for area businesses on Friday, Oct. 19 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The event will focus on the state’s certification programs that help grow minority, female and veteran-led businesses.


“The state of Ohio is looking to harness the potential of Ohio’s small, minority, female, and veteran businesses by increasing their competitiveness and capacity,” Holmes said. “I am happy to share this opportunity with leaders in our community.” 


Holmes is presenting the event in with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services, Rep. Michael O’Brien (D-Warren) and Sen. Sean O’Brien (D-Bazetta). In addition to seminars and workshops, local businesses can learn about financing programs and other resources the state provides for the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program, the Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) Program and the Veteran-Friendly Business (VBS) Enterprise. 


This event is free and open to the public, but participants are asked to register by Oct. 12 at www.das.ohio.gov/HD6364_MBEEDGEVBEBusinessDay
