COLUMBUS—State Representative Gary Scherer (R-Circleville) was sworn in to his fourth term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives during this week’s session. He represents the 92nd District, which includes portions of Fayette, Pickaway and Ross Counties.


“It is an honor to be able to continue to serve the residents of the 92nd District,” said Scherer. “I would like to thank all those who have supported me through the years, most of all my wife, Debbie.”


Representative Scherer is a lifelong resident of Ohio. He attended Miami University and The Ohio State University, where he obtained a B.S. in accounting. Throughout most of his career, he has worked as a CPA. In addition to his career in public accounting, Representative Scherer has worked for a time as the president of Circleville Oil Company. He previously held majority ownership of Buckeye Tax Professionals.


Representative Scherer and his wife of 42 years reside in Circleville. They have been blessed with three children and eight grandchildren.


This week’s Ohio House session marked the beginning of the 133rd General Assembly.

House Honors Medal Of Honor Recipient And Others With Memorial Highways

 

COLUMBUS— House Bill 276 passed the House unanimously, designating Master Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Edward C. Byers, Jr., Medal of Honor Recipient Highway on parts of State Route 65 in Wood County. This bill also designates multiple memorial highways and bridges across the state, including two Memorial Highway designations in House District 92, announced State Representative Gary Scherer (R-Circleville).



 
 

Rep. Gary Scherer Announces Sales Tax Holiday For First Weekend Of August

 
Columbus - 

State Representative Gary Scherer (R-Circleville) today announced that a sales tax holiday will be held this weekend, an opportunity for parents to receive some tax relief during back-to-school shopping in preparation for the new school year which will also stimulate economic activity for Ohio’s retailers. This year’s sales tax holiday was established by the state operating budget, House Bill 49.
