Reps. Crawley, Boggs And Lightbody Held Ohio Promise Town Hall
Statewide town hall tour focuses on Dem efforts to invest in working people and families

State Reps. Kristin Boggs (D-Columbus), Erica C. Crawley (D-Columbus) and Mary Lightbody (D-Westerville) yesterday held a community town hall as part of the Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour, a statewide legislative town hall series hosted by House Democratic members. The purpose of the tour is to hear from constituents in their districts about their most pressing concerns, answer questions, and discuss the state budget, bipartisan priorities and a number of recent Democratic-led, legislative wins for working people and families.

“It was inspiring to see so many neighbors come out last night to learn about the Ohio Promise and talk about issues that matter to them,” said Rep. Boggs. “I truly appreciate their engagement because it helps me better serve our community in the Statehouse.”

“It was great to have our neighbors join us as we discussed our work in the Statehouse,” said Rep. Crawley. “We want to make sure that people always remember that we work for them and have discussions on what topics are important to them in order to pass meaningful legislation.”

“It was a wonderful opportunity to meet with constituents from across Franklin County; thanks to all who attended,” said Rep. Lightbody. “My colleagues and I were glad to share information about how the Democratic caucus has been working for them to uphold Ohio’s promise of good jobs, safe communities, and a quality education for everyone. We work for you, so please do not hesitate to reach out to my office with any further questions or concerns.”

Reps. Crawley, Boggs and Lightbody kicked off the event with a legislative update, discussing bills they have been working on in regards to Ohio’s workforce, education, and access to health care. The event included an open forum to allow constituents to ask questions and identify community concerns that can be addressed through state government. Audience members in Columbus wanted to know about gun safety legislation, public transportation efforts, and gerrymandering.

Rep. Boggs represents Ohio’s 18th House District, Rep. Crawley represents Ohio’s 26th House District and Rep. Lightbody represents Ohio’s 19th House District. All of their districts include portions of Franklin County.
